Williams-Dryden Named ASUN Player of the Week

CARROLLTON, Ga- For the second time in his career, forward Shelton Williams-Dryden was voted ASUN Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Playing in three games over the course of the past week, Williams-Dryden averaged 20.67 points and 13 rebounds per game, while shooting 43 percent from the field.

In the Wolves' wins over Tennessee Tech (Nov. 17) and USC Upstate (Nov. 21), the forward pushed his double-double streak to three, before being one rebound shy at Georgia Tech (Nov. 24) of recording his fourth straight double-double. Despite not reaching that mark against the Yellow Jackets, Williams-Dryden did tally a career-high five steals in Atlanta.

Going into the fourth week of competition, Williams-Dryden leads the Wolves and ranks third in the ASUN in scoring with an average of 19 points per game, while shooting 45 percent from the field (eighth in the ASUN) and 75 percent from the line (eighth in the ASUN). In addition to ranking in the top-ten in these categories, the forward's 10 rebounds per game average places him second in the ASUN. Totaling 70 rebounds, the forward is tied for ninth nationally with Sacramento State's Prophet Johnson.

Williams-Dryden and the Wolves enjoy a Thanksgiving break before returning to the action next Monday (Dec. 1) to take on the Trojans of Troy in Alabama.
