Through two games, the West Georgia defense has been one of the strongest units in the FCS, ranking second in points given up (17), third in rushing yards allowed per game (45), tied for sixth in third down conversion % (.233), ninth in first downs allowed (25) and ninth in yards per game allowed (225.5). Jay Carter leads the unit in tackles with 19, good for fourth-best in the UAC.
