Tailgating @ UWG – Know Before You Go
STUDENT TICKETS
It's easier than ever before for UWG Students to enter any athletic event on campus. UWG Students need to bring a VALID UWG ID to the game and enter at the East Gate, which is directly next to The Hill Student Zone Tailgate. Student entry will be swipe only using your Valid UWG ID.
STUDENT PARKING AT UNIVERSITY STADIUM
UWG Students may choose to drive to the UWG Athletics Complex, where students will receive free parking in Lots D, E, and F. A UWG hangtag will be your parking entry, but the hangtag must be displayed in order to receive complimentary parking. VERY IMPORTANT: To receive free parking at University Stadium, students must enter from the Stadium Drive Entrance via West Georgia Drive. (Turn at The Coliseum off of West Georgia Drive) Any entrance from Lovvorn Rd. will carry a cost for all patrons, including students.
BUS TRANSPORTATION
The easiest way to get to University Stadium is to ride the Stadium Shuttle, which will be running the Blue Route throughout the afternoon leading up to the game. Students and Fans can park at The Coliseum for free and hop on the shuttle at the designated spot for quick and easy access to the stadium.
STUDENT TAILGATING
The Hill includes general student tailgating with food, fun activities, and games. Grab a tailgating space on The Hill on a first-come, first-served basis at no cost to your student organization. Spaces available starting 4 hours before kickoff.
GENERAL FAN TAILGATING & PARKING
There are multiple paid lots near Wolf Plaza for fans to participate in Gameday tailgating at University Stadium. Purchase yours from the links below, available until three days before each game:
- Lot B Premium Parking
The premium spot for Gameday parking at the University of West Georgia is Lot B. Spots inside Lot B include RV spots, Reserved tailgate spaces, reserved spaces, and general admission. For the main lot (Lot B) at University Stadium is reserved for those with Lot B parking passes. Access Lot B via the Lot B entrance located on Lovvorn Rd. It is recommended and encouraged to access the UWG Athletics Complex for Lot B through only the Lot B entrance and avoid all other entrances. - Lot C Prepaid Parking
Gameday parking in Lot C is a prepaid spot available to all fans coming to a UWG football game. Lot C is reserved as a general admission lot for all fans who hold a Lot C parking pass. Access Lot C via the Lot C entrance on Lovvorn Rd. It is recommended and encouraged to access the UWG Athletics Complex for Lot C through only the Lot C entrance and avoid all other entrances. - Lots D-G, Wolf Walk, and Wolves Tailgate Lot
The Wolf Walk and the Wolves Tailgate Lot are reserved parking spots for fans who purchase tailgate spots at either location. Lots D-G are General Admission spots that are available for pre-purchase ahead of your visit to University Stadium. Access Lots D-G, the Wolf Walk, and the Wolves Tailgate Lot through the Stadium Drive Entrance at West Georgia Drive on the UWG Campus. It is recommended and encouraged to access the UWG Athletics Complex for Lots D-G, the Wolf Walk, and the Wolves Tailgate Lot through only the Stadium Drive entrance and avoid all other entrances.

GENERAL INFORMATION
- How do I get tickets to the game?
- Advance purchase of your tickets is encouraged! Ahead of gameday, be sure to visit uwgathleticstickets.com or if you need assistance with your order, please contact Director of Ticket Sales, Aries Burrell at aries@uwgsportsproperties.com. Inquiries will be answered Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
- The University Stadium ticket booths will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff to assist you with your Gameday Ticketing purchase. No cash will be accepted at ticket booths on the day of the game.
- UWG Students are afforded one free ticket to each ticketed home game throughout the academic year. It's easier than ever before for UWG Students to enter any athletic event on campus in 2025. UWG Students need to bring a VALID UWG ID to the game and enter at the East Gate, which is directly next to The Hill Student Zone Tailgate. Student entry will be swipe only using your Valid UWG ID.
- What can I do while tailgating?
- Community tailgating for faculty, staff, alumni, and community members is permitted on days of home football games and is for the exclusive use of those fans attending the games.
- The university will permit tailgating activities in designated areas, intended to give football fans the opportunity to arrive early, park, and have their own food and beverages prior to each game.
- How early can I arrive and how late can I stay?
- Community tailgating locations will typically open for individuals to enter the Athletic Complex five (5) hours prior to kick off on the day of the game. University-sponsored tailgating events typically begin 4 hours prior to kickoff.
- All tailgating must be concluded no later than two hours after the completion of the game.
- When will the gates to University Stadium be open?
- Stadium gates open 90 minutes before kickoff.
- Gameday tip: Take the chance to greet the team ahead of the game with the Wolf Walk 2 hours and 15 minutes before the game, then come on into University Stadium.
- What do I do if there’s inclement weather?
- Tailgating spaces and reservations can occur rain or shine.
- In case of emergency, the public address announcer will notify fans of developing situations in order to make informed decisions concerning their wellbeing. Upon arrival, please familiarize yourself with the nearest exit points of the stadium and Athletic Complex.

- Overflow parking is available on the main lots on campus. For fans parking on campus, a UWG Stadium Shuttle will be accessible from 2 hours before kickoff until two hours after the conclusion of the game.
- Students are encouraged to utilize the buses from campus and to join UWG Athletics on The Hill near Wolf Plaza.
- How do I get around campus while I’m here?
- For our fans’ convenience, the university provides complimentary shuttles between University Stadium and various locations on campus:

- West Commons
- Education Center/Tyus
- Aycock/Richards Hall

- Can I tailgate in the parking lot?
- We invite you to consider tailgating in the Wolves Tailgate Lot, which made it's debut in the fall of 2021.
- An appropriate number of parking spaces have been allocated to accommodate most fans. To help meet these parking needs, we ask that you do not set up tailgating materials in the surrounding parking spaces. Grassy areas adjoining all parking areas are available for your tailgating experience and enjoyment.
TAILGATING AMENITIES
- Where are the restrooms?
- Restrooms and water fountains are available two-and-a-half hours before kickoff near the stadium’s northeastern gate (near Wolf Plaza). Portable restrooms are also conveniently located in various locations outside the stadium for your convenience.
- Once the stadium gates open (90 minutes before kickoff), restroom facilities are located on the concourse level of both East and West sides of University Stadium.
- All restrooms in University Stadium are ADA-accessible, and baby-changing stations are available in all restrooms.
- Does the university provide power sources for tailgating?
- Power sources, including generators, for tailgating needs are the responsibility of the fan. The university and UWG Athletics will not supply power sources for personal use.
- Will there be trash and recycling bins near my tailgate?
- Trash and recycling bins will be conveniently located throughout the UWG Athletic Complex.
- Fans are encouraged to Leave our Campus beautiful by cleaning up before heading into the stadium.
- Are there any UWG traditions to enjoy before the game?
- Wolf Walk! 2 hours and 15 minutes before kickoff, watch as the Wolves walk past Wolf Plaza, down The Hill, and into University Stadium. Cheerleaders, the UWG Marching Band, and fans line the walk to howl with the players and share their UWG pride!
- Is there a designated children’s area?
- Yes, we have the Junior Wolves Fun Den! Young ones are invited to join us between Wolf Plaza and the stadium’s northeast entrance for spirit-filled activities prior to the game. Children should remain under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian at all times.
- Do you have any tent guidelines?
- The standard size for tailgate tents in the UWG Athletic Complex is 12-feet-by-12-feet or smaller. If you would like to utilize a larger tent, please contact Matt Cooke at mcooke@westga.edu.
- Guests should follow the manufacturer’s guidelines on using pop-up and canopy tents.
- The university reserves the right to direct fans to take down their tent for safety or courtesy reasons.
FAN EXPECTATIONS
- Is there a code of conduct for fans?
- Coaches, student-athletes, employees or individuals associated with each institution, including alumni, fans, patrons, and boosters shall conduct themselves with respect and good sportsmanship.
- Fans are responsible for their own conduct and safety. The university is not responsible for any loss or injury that occurs on university property.
- Is consumption of alcoholic beverages permitted while tailgating?
- In accordance with UWG’s Alcohol Policy, alcohol is allowed at any major event which is designated by the president as a tailgate event. Participants in tailgating parties are expected to follow all relevant laws and UWG’s Alcohol Use Policy, including not serving alcohol to anyone under 21 years of age, not giving alcoholic beverages to any obviously intoxicated person, and not driving while intoxicated.
- Alcohol will be permitted in the tailgating area only. Groups are responsible for ensuring only those who are 21 years of age or older consume alcohol. All beverages, including alcohol, must be in opaque cups.
- Kegs and other common containers are not allowed at any time.
- Glass containers are not allowed except to hold alcohol in its original bottled package in your cooler or closed container.
- Can I play music while I’m tailgating?
- Yes, you are more than welcome to play music at your tailgate. Please remember that UWG gameday is designed to be a family-friendly experience for all attendees. Sound levels must be kept low enough to avoid disrupting university activities or the tailgating activities of others in the area.
- Additionally, all outdoor amplified sound must be turned off 15 minutes before the beginning of the game, and it may only resume after the conclusion of the event.
- Can I grill out while I’m tailgating?
- Groups may bring their own picnic items and food to their tailgate area.
- Grilling is permitted in accordance with the following guidelines:
- Propane and charcoal grills only
- Grill must be elevated and may not contact paved parking lots
- Fires must be extinguished and coals must be removed from campus for disposal
- Grilling may be prohibited during dry conditions upon prior announcement.
- Can I bring my pet?
- Animals are not permitted inside University Stadium.
- Can I fly a drone on gameday?
- Can I smoke or use tobacco products while tailgating?
- In accordance with the Georgia SmokeFree Air Act of 2005, Title 31 Chapter 12A, the use of all forms of tobacco products on property owned, leased, rented, in the possession of, or in any way used by the University System of Georgia (USG) or its affiliates is expressly prohibited. This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, all areas indoors and outdoors, buildings and parking lots owned, leased, rented, or otherwise used by the USG or its affiliates.
- Are weapons allowed?
- As an intercollegiate venue, the UWG Athletic Complex is a weapons-free zone.
- Can I sell or market anything while I’m tailgating?
- No sales activities, marketing, or solicitation are allowed on the University of West Georgia campus, including any and all tailgating areas, without permission from the Assistant Vice President - Campus Services. Email auxent@westga.edu to request permission.
