CLEVELAND, Tenn. – West Georgia soccer's four-game win streak came to a halt on Friday night, falling to the ninth-ranked Lee Flames 1-0 on the road in Gulf South Conference action.

The Wolves (4-2, 2-1 GSC) played the Flames tough for 90 minutes, but a 68
th minute goal was the difference in a defensive battle. Lee (8-0, 5-0 GSC) rattled off nine shots in the opening half to West Georgia's two first half shots.

Lee's goal came from their leading scorer Riley Henry as the fifth-year senior found a loose ball at the top of the 18, and scored in the bottom left corner.

UWG keeper
Chanceley Book made four saves in the contest, and nearly got a lift from her offense to tie the game late.

West Georgia had two very good scoring chances as time wound down. The first was a through ball just out the reach of
Cassidi Thomas. Then, with less than a minute to play, Thomas sent in a corner kick that found the foot of freshman
Britton Slifka, but her shot sailed over the crossbar.

It was the sixth-time in 11 overall meetings between the Flames and Wolves that it has been a 1-0 decision.

The Wolves now prepare for Sunday afternoon's game at Shorter. Kickoff for that game is set for 1 p.m. from Rome, Georgia.
