CARROLLTON, Ga. – The University of West Georgia's first slate of league football games in the United Athletic Conference is set, as the UAC announced its 2024 conference schedule on Tuesday.
The schedule features eight UAC games, including four conference games in Carrollton and four conference road games across four different states.
"We are pleased to partner with the United Athletic Conference to announce UWG's inaugural Division I conference schedule," said Director of Athletics, Jason Carmichael. "We look forward to the start of new rivalries as well as the renewing of former regional matchups."
West Georgia's inaugural game in the UAC is a road trip to the Bluegrass State for a showdown with Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 14. The Wolves then return home for their first UAC game at University Stadium, hosting Tarleton State on Sept. 21.
A rivalry will be renewed on Sept. 28 when the Wolves travel to North Alabama to take on the Lions for the 36th time in program history. UWG and UNA last played in 2017 in Carrollton.
Austin Peay makes their first trip to Carrollton on Oct. 5, followed by West Georgia's Oct.12 trip to Cedar City, Utah, for a showdown with the Thunderbirds of Southern Utah.
UWG's next UAC game is slated for Nov. 2, as the Wolves welcome Stephen F. Austin and then stay home the next Saturday for a Nov. 9 contest against Utah Tech.
The final UAC game is on the road, as UWG heads to Central Arkansas on Nov. 16.
UWG is still diligently working to finalize the non-conference portion of the schedule. The Wolves do, however, already have a trip to Abilene Christian scheduled for Sept. 7 as the Wolves and Wildcats tangle in a non-conference tilt in Abilene, Texas.
Game times are to be determined. The UWG football season ticket renewal process will begin in early February for current season ticket holders.
