CHICAGO - The University of West Georgia women's basketball team dropped a non-conference game at Loyola Chicago, 76-60 on Saturday night at Gentile Arena.

West Georgia (0-2) never got much going offensively, shooting just 38.6 percent from the field, while Loyola Chicago (2-0) shot 50 percent from the field and poured in nine three-pointers on their home floor.

The Wolves, who never led in the game, also committed 20 turnovers on the road, and shot just 21-of-33 from the free throw line.

Four Wolves finished in double-figures, led by 12 points from senior Zuriyah Davis while Becca Ledford, Destiny Jones, and K'Nari Holliday finished with 11 points. Ledford's 11 points set a new career high for the junior.

An early 11-1 run by the Ramblers put them up by 12 midway through the first quarter, and over the final half of the period, Loyola Chicago would extend their lead to 16 points.

Both teams added 14 points to the tally in the second quarter, and Loyola took a 42-26 lead into the locker room at the break.

West Georgia shot the ball better in the third quarter, but committed nine of their 20 turnovers in the period, allowing the Ramblers to post their largest lead of the game at 25 with 1:52 left in the quarter.

For the second straight game, UWG won the fourth quarter, outscoring Loyola Chicago 21-14 in the final period. Mykah Anderson led the way in the last period scoring all seven of her points in the final 10 minutes.

Holliday led UWG's rebounding efforts with eight while Anderson's three steals were a team-high. Sophomore point guard Sydne Tolbert dished out a team-high five assists in the loss.

West Georgia will play their third straight road game to open the season on Thursday, November 14, traveling to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech in a 7 p.m. contest.
