UWG Football Announces 2025 Schedule

2/4/2025 5:45:00 PM

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Year two of FCS football at the University of West Georgia is taking shape as the Department of Athletics announced the complete 2025 schedule today.

Highlights of the schedule include five home games, including four United Athletic Conference home games and a week-three home opener against a solid FCS opponent. Homecoming is set for October 25 as the Wolves host Central Arkansas in conference play.

The 2025 campaign will begin on the road on a Thursday night, as UWG makes a trip to Samford on August 28 to take on the Bulldogs for a second consecutive year.

Game two features another road trip, as West Georgia treks to Thibodaux, Louisiana, for a non-conference matchup with the Nicholls Colonels at John L. Guidry Stadium.

The home opener is slated for Saturday, September 13, as the Wolves host East Tennessee State at University Stadium. Kickoff for the home opener is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Conference action gets underway in week four as West Georgia will open UAC play at home against Eastern Kentucky on September 20 at University Stadium in another 6 p.m. kickoff.

West Georgia then goes on back-to-back road trips, the first of which is the near 2,000-mile trek to Cedar City, Utah, for a September 27 matchup against Southern Utah. The next week, the Wolves open the month of October with a trip to Clarksville, Tennessee, for the first road meeting in the series against Austin Peay.

Returning home on October 11, the Wolves host a 2024 NCAA Playoff team in Abilene Christian before facing another playoff team seven days later on the road at Tarleton State. The ACU game on October 11 will be the annual Hall of Fame Game in 2025 and will kick off at 2 p.m.

October 25 brings the Central Arkansas Bears to University Stadium for a week nine Homecoming showdown between former GSC teams that gets underway at 2 p.m. from University Stadium.

Another former GSC rival awaits in week 10, as the Wolves travel to renew the rivalry with the North Alabama Lions on November 8.

The final home game of the 2025 season brings the Utah Tech Trailblazers across the country for their first visit to University Stadium. That game is slated for November 15, will kick off at 2 p.m. and will be Senior Day to honor the 2025 class of UWG Football seniors.

Season Ticket Deposits for the 2025 season are available now. The total amount will be deducted from the total cost of your season ticket when you make your final purchase. One deposit will reserve one reserved chairback seat for the 2025 UWG Football season.
