CARROLLTON, Ga. – A total of 54 pitchers across Division I baseball were named today to the National Pitcher of the Year Watchlist, and UWG's ace Lane Pearson was among those names released by the College Baseball Foundation.
 
Pearson, a senior out of Marshall, Virginia, is 5-1 on the season with a 2.98 ERA over 60.1 innings. He's held batters to a .231 average this season and racked up 68 strikeouts. Pearson ranks third in the ASUN in wins and ERA and leads the league in strikeouts.
 
Three pitchers on the list represent the ASUN, as Pearson is joined by JU's Richard Long and Stetson's Jonathan Gonzalez. Last weekend in Carrollton, Pearson and Long went head-to-head in the series opener with each pitching 7.0 innings and Pearson out-dueling the visitor on his way to a victory.
 
In total, the pitchers on the watch list represent 20 different conferences and reflect the top mound performers to this point of the 2025 season.

The award will be presented later this year by the College Baseball Foundation.
