Witmer Earns All-ASUN Honors

CARROLLTON, Ga. - West Georgia senior Jack Witmer made history for the Wolves' baseball program today, being named Third Team All-ASUN as a designated hitter.

The Ola, Georgia native's selection not only marks the first time a UWG baseball player earned All-ASUN honors, but he is also the first West Georgia male athlete to achieve this feat.

Over the course of the season, Witmer tallied 37 hits, 24 runs, eight RBIs and three doubles while batting at a .272 average. He was also successful on 13 of his 14 steal attempts. In addition to these solid numbers, the DH recorded nine multi-hit performances, four of which he had three knocks. From the Wolves' game against #3 Georgia (March 25) through the first Jacksonville series (April 13), Witmer recorded a hit in ten consecutive contests, his longest streak of the season.

West Georgia finished the inaugural Division I season with 20 wins, 11 coming in-conference. In addition to Witmer's selection, Dosie Drakeford earned a spot on the 2025 Academic All-ASUN team.
