Williams-Dryden Earns Lute Olson Award National Player of the Week Honors

1/5/2026 12:00:00 PM

CARROLLTON, Ga. - For the first time in West Georgia history, forward Shelton Williams-Dryden earned Lute Olson National Player of the Week honors.

Over the course of two games this past week, Williams-Dryden recorded back-to-back double-doubles, averaging an ASUN-high 30 points and 13.5 rebounds per contest while shooting a fourth-best 58 percent from the field. In the Wolves' win over EKU, the forward dropped a career-high 32 points.

"Shelton is one of the best power forwards in the country at our level in my opinion," said head coach Dave Moore. "He has been tremendous for us and is really playing at a high level. His ability to rebound both ends fuels his game. We couldn't be more proud of Shelton. I know he will continue to play at a high level and be a leader for us on and off the court."

Made up of current Division I coaches, athletic administrators and senior College Insider staff members, the panel honors the best DI player with this weekly award. Williams-Dryden joins the ranks of AJ Dybantsa from BYU and Cameron Boozer from Duke, to name a few 2025-26 Lute Olson Award winners.
