STEPHENVILLE, Tx.- West Georgia Volleyball heads to the Lone Star State for their next two challenges. The Wolves are set to face Tarleton State Thursday (Oct. 22) at 7 p.m. EST for the first time in program history 

Following Saturday's four set stumble to UT-Arlington, the Wolves Libero Giorgia Mandotti has entered the NCAA Top 50 having 4.39 digs-per-set ranking her 45th after setting a career high in digs against UTA (Oct 17), tallying an impressive 33. That is tied for the second most in a single match this season ranked among all UAC players in all matches. Mandotti does not appear on the NCAA site rankings due to West Georgia still within the transition window to Division I.  

Mandotti is two service aces away from entering the UWG record book, sitting at 34 service aces this season thus far. There is a three-way tie for ninth place ahead of her at 36 service aces sit former Wolves Audrey Hipple (2009), Andressa Martin (2012), and Victoria Schmer (2024). 

UWG setter Desha Van Veldhuizen surpassed the 1000 career assist mark last week and set a new single game career high against UT-Arlington (Oct. 17) recording 51 assists. She sits at 1060 career assists, ranking her 12th all time in UWG history, all 1060 assists came from her four years at West Georgia. She also was tagged for four service aces against the Mavericks (Oct. 17) tying her previous career high.  

Tarleton State is entering Thursday's match, following a four set loss at UT-Arlington. The Texans offensive efforts are led by fifth year outside hitter LaNeah Lara who has racked up double digit kills in two her past three matches and had nine in last night loss to UT-Arlington. Lara has 181 kills on the season good for 2.35 k/s that both lead the team. Middle blocker Alyssa Dinh is one to watch at the net, the 6-1 junior stuffed six blocks Tuesday night versus the Mavericks.  

The next UWG home match is Oct. 29th hosting Austin Peay at 6 p.m. Keep an eye out for more details for West Georgia Volleyball's Trick-or-Treat match Saturday October 31 at 1 p.m.!
