CARROLLTON, Ga. - Year three of Division I women's basketball is just a few days away as the UWG Wolves are set to open the 2026-27 season on the road at Georgia on Monday, November 2 at 5 p.m. in Athens.

West Georgia, who is set to compete in the inaugural season of basketball in the United Athletic Conference, is coming off an 18-13 campaign a season ago. Head Coach Joanna Reitz, who has led UWG through the transition to Division I, begins her fifth season at the helm.

Reitz and the Wolves were picked eighth in the Preseason UAC Coaches Poll, and senior guard Sydne Tolbert was named Preseason All-UAC.

The opponents for game one, the Georgia Bulldogs, are debuting first-year head coach Ayla Guzzardo who came to UGA after a 29-win season at McNeese State. Georgia was picked 13th in the SEC Coaches Poll.

It's the first time West Georgia has played Georgia since 1979 and UGA won that matchup 83-70.

The game will be televised on the SEC Network+ and is set to tip from Stegeman Coliseum at 5 p.m.
