CARROLLTON, Ga. - After wrapping up its final road stretch of the season, West Georgia men's basketball welcomes Lipscomb University to The Coliseum this Wednesday for a conference clash that has ASUN Championship Tournament implications on the line. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and the UWG faithful are encouraged to wear red.

With only two more ASUN games remaining in the regular season, the Bisons (18-11, 11-5 ASUN) have already locked up one of the four first round bys, while UWG (12-16, 6-10 ASUN) is still fighting for a favorable ranking that can be as high as sixth or as low as tenth. While the current 11th-seed North Florida Ospreys could tie West Georgia's six ASUN wins, UWG takes the tie-breaker thanks to victory over top-ranked Queens from earlier this year. Coming off a solid scoring performance for UWG is junior guard Josh Smith. In the Wolves' latest matchup, Smith led the Pack with his 10th 20-point performance of the season on 62 percent shooting. Remarkably, Smith has scored 20 or more points in three of his last four appearances, highlighted by a career-high 28-point night vs North Alabama. Currently, his 16.1 points per game average ranks sixth in the ASUN.

After recording six double-doubles in a seven-game stretch, senior forward Shelton Williams-Dryden has gone three straight games without grabbing enough rebounds to achieve this feat. Despite not reaching these totals, Williams-Dryden continues to rank atop the ASUN leaderboards in both scoring and rebounding. Currently, his 9.2 rebounds per game rank him second in the league, while his 20.3 points per game place him third. In addition to putting up top-ten scoring figures, he also ranks ninth in the conference with a 49 percent field goal rate.

Looking at Lipscomb, the Bisons are led on offense by graduate student forward Grant Asman, who averages a team-high 14.3 points per game while shooting a fifth-best in ASUN 53 percent field rate. Asman also leads the team with 29 blocks and a 6.1 rebounds per game average, and ranks second with 28 steals. Going over his game logs, the forward has dropped double-digits in seven straight games, underscored by a career-best 25-point performance against Central Arkansas. Playing in 118 career games, Asman and West Georgia's Kolten Griffin are two of the most seasoned players in the league. It will be interesting to see how much these two veteran leaders will cover each other on Wednesday night.

Statistically speaking, LU is one of the most efficient offensive teams in the ASUN, highlighted by the fact that they rank top-three in scoring (80.6 ppg), team field goal percentage (47 percent) and team three-point percentage (37 percent). On the other hand, West Georgia posts an ASUN-best 4.93 blocks per game and their 36.6 rebounds per game average rank the Wolves second in the league. On offense, UWG scores an average of 76.3 points, shoots 44 percent from the field and 34 percent from three.

Tipoff between UWG and the visiting Bisons is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday in The Coliseum. Streaming and stat links are available on the team's schedule.
