CARROLLTON, Ga. - Five UWG softball players were named to the College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team today.
Seniors Calli Hardison, Zekylah Boyd, and Madison McDonald earned the honor as did a pair of juniors in Jenna Samuel and Megan Waites.
Hardison and Boyd just completed their undergraduate degrees with Hardison getting a nursing degree with a 3.93 GPA while Boyd completed a Health & Community Wellness degree boasting a 3.65 GPA. McDonald, a Master's of Sport Management student, has a 4.0 in her time as a UWG grad student.
Jenna Samuel, who led the Wolves in average, home runs, and RBIs as a Third Team All-ASUN selection, is a psychology major with a 3.64 GPA and Waites is a Speech Pathology major with a 3.86 GPA.
College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team honors significant contributors who hold a 3.50 GPA or above. Players must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Honorees must play in 90 percent of team's total games or start 60 percent with pitchers making at least 17 appearances or tossing 25 innings.
