ARLINGTON, Texas - As part of the UAC Football Kickoff in Texas, the United Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll was announced with UWG being picked to finish sixth by the league's coaches.
In their first year under Steve Englehart, UWG received 39 points in the poll and finished ahead of rival North Alabama and UAC newcomer, West Florida.
Both Tarleton State and Abilene Christian were tabbed as the preseason favorite as each had three first-place votes and tied in total points. Austin Peay, who was picked third, received a pair of first place votes. EKU was picked fourth by the UAC's coaches while Central Arkansas fell into fifth place.
The Wolves begin their season on August 27 by hosting Chattanooga with UAC play beginning in October with a trip to Richmond, Kentucky and a showdown with EKU on October 10.
