West Georgia Men’s Basketball Signs David Simon

7/28/2026 9:17:00 AM

CARROLLTON, Ga. - University of West Georgia head men's basketball coach Dave Moore revealed on Friday that the Wolves signed University of Vermont transfer David Simon to compete for the Pack in 2026.

Standing at 6-foot-11 and hailing from Windsor, Canada, Simon is a towering redshirt junior forward who brings three years of college experience to the Wolves' lineup.

"David Simon is a skilled 6'11" forward filled with potential. His skill set gives him the ability to score at all three levels," stated Moore. "We are really excited to work with David! He will have an immediate impact for us this season."

Last year with the Vermont Catmounts, Simon averaged 3.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game before suffering a season-ending injury 18 games in. Before competing in The Green Mountain State, Simon played for the San Diego Toreros for two seasons. Over a two-year span, the forward competed in 26 games, averaging 4.6 points and 2.2 rebounds while totaling 18 blocks, eight assists and three steals.

Simon prepped at Royal Crown High School, where he won the OSBA Championship, earned Canadian National Player of the Year honors and was named to the Provincial First Team.

Simon reunites with West Georgia Wolf and former Torero teammate, Chas Lewless. These two competed for San Diego together during the 2024-25 season.
