CARROLLTON, Ga. -The West Georgia Wolves (3-5) capped off day one of the UWG Volleyball Classic, securing a 3-0 sweep over LSU New Orleans (1-7), marking the Pack's second straight victory of the home tournament.

After securing a record-breaking 25-9 set one win, UWG cruised to 25-18 and 25-14 set victories. West Georgia's opening set win marked the first time UWG held an opponent to under ten points since elevating to DI (not including fifth sets). The last time UWG held an opponent to under ten points outside of the fifth set was against Christian Brothers during the spring of 2021 season (March 26, 2021).

SET ONE
The Wolves kicked off game two firing on all cylinders. Before the Privateers tallied a single point, UWG found themselves 5-0, forcing the visitors to call a timeout. Out of the break, outside hitter Brooke McCall tallied two kills and middle blocker Milena Ćetković followed it up with three service aces to continue the set one route. By the time the media break rang out, UWG built a 15-4 lead with McCall leading the way. West Georgia would cruise to a 25-9 win.

SET TWO
The Wolves continued to control the match in set two despite the Privateers' best efforts. Capitalizing on a handful of UWG attack errors, UNO kept it close to open the match, but UWG was just getting started. Fueled by outside hitter Valiree Schmus' five kills, the Wolves took an advantage over UNO and never looked back, finishing the set on a 7-2 run to earn a 25-18 win.

SET THREE
Like with set one, the third and final set of the day opened with the Wolves jumping out to a 4-0 lead before UNO tallied a point. With McCall leading the way for the Pack, UWG reached 18 points before the visitors from Louisiana passed the double-digit mark. West Georgia would go on to win 25-14 while recording a .333 team attack percentage.

UWG was led by McCall with 12 points on 11 kills, marking the seventh consecutive match that she tallied double-digit points. Middle blocker Maddy Kirmer recorded two blocks, pushing her season total to a team-high 20. She has recorded at least one block in all eight matches this season.
