MILL SPRING, N.C.- The University of West Georgia cross country teams competed at the Tryon Western NC XC Showcase at Tryon International Horse Park Friday evening, racing against teams from the Big South and Southern Conference.

On the women's side, Reatta Danhof was the first Wolf to cross the finish line and did so in historic fashion. Danhof recorded a time of 18:20.9, setting a new personal best while moving into third all-time in UWG history. Her performance also earned her sixth place in the 5K race.

Haley Hartman was the next finisher for the Wolves, crossing the line in 20:07.7, just one second off her personal-best time. Linda Rivero rounded out UWG's top three finishers with a time of 20:56.2.

Freshmen Jade and Suri Lawrence both recorded personal-best times in North Carolina. Jade finished in 22:04, while Suri followed closely behind with a time of 22:13.6.

On the men's side, Alex Njoroge led the Wolves with a time of 25:56.9, earning third place overall and a bronze medal. His performance marked the highest overall finish by a Wolf this season.

Noah Anderson was the next UWG finisher, crossing the line in 26:26.2 to place 12th overall. Solomon Johnson followed with a time of 26:46.4 to round out the Wolves' top three finishers.

Freshman Jackson Harrell continued his strong improvement, finishing in 27:59.9. His time was nearly two minutes faster than his previous 8K, giving him a new personal best. Freshman Cash Driggers also recorded a personal best, finishing in 29:44.3 after previously competing at the Southern Showcase.

Head Coach Ryan Bailey was proud of the way his teams competed despite the challenging course. "The course was not fast by any means, but I am proud of how we competed today. Reatta Danhof ran her best race of the season and was rewarded by moving into third all-time in UWG history, right behind Kristal McQueen and Stacy Timbrook."

Up next, the Wolves will travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina, to compete in the USC Upstate Invitational at Milliken Research Park on Oct. 17. The meet will be hosted by USC Upstate.
