The Wolf Walk

Tailgating has become a major event at the University of West Georgia during the fall, and the centerpiece of UWG tailgating is The Wolf Walk, where fans gather at Wolf Plaza to welcome the team to University Stadium for today's game. The Wolf Walk takes place at Wolf Plaza 1.5 hours before kickoff of every game.

The Marching Wolves of West Georgia

This is just as much of a "who" as it is a "what". The Marching Wolves of West Georgia has been given to the UWG Marching Band members who attend and play UWG's fight songs at both football and basketball games. West Georgia's fight songs include: "Red & Blue" and its original fight song from back when UWG was known as West Georgia College. Each halftime show ends with the UWG rendition of Long Train Running.

Championship Cheerleading

With a total of 30 national titles, the UWG Cheerleading Squads have taken over competitive cheerleading. The most recent championship came in the Partner Stunt Group in January of 2023.

Wolves Helping Others

Led by the student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC), Wolves Helping Others is a program that has a focus on serving the local community through volunteer efforts.  As the events within the local area unfold you may see members from all the different teams the Wolves field with students from various academic levels and majors taking time to serve those who are in need.
