New to the coaching world in 2026 is Drae McCray who begins his collegiate career under UWG head coach Steve Englehart. McCray is the Wolves' assistant wide receivers coach.
A former wideout and electric punt returner, McCray played four seasons of Division I football before a one-year stint in the Canadian Football League in 2025. McCray began his career at UAC foe Austin Peay, where he was a two-time All-Conference selection with nearly 2,000 reciving yards and 17 touchdowns in two seasons. He then transferred to Texas Tech to close out his career, racking up 23 career games played with 329 reciving yards. At Tech, McCray was a weapon in the return game, ranking third in the country in punt return yards as a junior. He was Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in both seasons as a Red Raider.
McCray played in five games for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in his one season in the CFL.
A native of Tallahassee, Florida, McCray earned his degree from Texas Tech in 2024.
