New to the staff in 2025 is Kyhle Jackson, who came to UWG after serving on staff at UAC foe Austin Peay in 2024.

At Austin Peay, Jackson coached the cornerbacks alongside Tripp Weaver who was the Govs’ defensive coordinator last season. Prior to his stint in Clarksville, Jackson was a defensive assistant at East Carolina.

Jackson’s first full-time post at the collegiate level was at his alma mater, North Alabama, where he spent one season on the staff after completing a graduate assistantship for South Alabama. His start in coaching came at the prep level where he held positions at Madison Academy and Landmark Christian.

A standout at UNA, Jackson thrived when the Lions were lining up against the Wolves in the Gulf South Conference days. Jackson played in eight games as a freshman at UNA in 2012, 13 games as a sophomore in 2013 and 11 as a junior in 2014. After redshirting in 2015, Jackson helped lead the Lions to the NCAA Division II National Championship Game as a senior, making 51 tackles. He added a 93-yard interception return for a touchdown.

For his career at UNA, Jackson played in 45 total games with 83 tackles, three interceptions and three fumbles recovered.

He earned his UNA bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2016.
