Joining the staff in 2024, Rodman Noel is UWG football's special teams analyst.
A former linebacker at NC State, Noel comes to Carrollton following a 2023 season as the linebackers coach at Morehead State. Last season, Noel saw MSU linebackers Jahleel Holmes and Keenan Wolf named All-Pioneer League.
Prior to his stint at Morehead State, Noel was a graduate assistant at Southwest Baptist where he coached Coleton Smith who led the nation (DII) in tackles with 162 (30 more than the second place tackler) in 2021 and was named All-American.Â
Noel played at NC State from 2011-14, where he led the Wolfpack in tackles as a senior. He helped his team win two bowl games as well, winning the Belk Bowl in 2011 and the St. Petersburg Bowl in 2014.
Noel had a stint as a professional player with the Cleveland Browns before moving into the coaching world. He served as linebackers and special teams coordinator at Tracy and Alonzo Mourning High School in Miami during the 2020 season.Â
Originally from the Boston, Mass., area, Noel has a bachelor's degree from NC State, graduating in 2016. He is on his way to earning his Master's Degree at Southwest Baptist in 2023.
