Returning for his third year on staff, Roosevelt Maggitt is West Georgia's defensive line coach.
In his first year with the program, Maggitt worked with two players with NFL aspirations, helping Auzoyah Alufohai to earn a spot on the Houston Texans' 53-man roster in the fall of 2020. Chad Price closed out his career at UWG in Maggitt's first, becoming the next in a long line of outstanding and highly decorated defensive ends at UWG.
Maggitt was on the staff at the University of Texas for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, working as a defensive quality control assistant.
As a player, Maggitt has a solid resume from his alma mater of Iowa State. A two-star recruit out of Dwyer High School in Riviera, Fla., Maggitt redshirted in his first season in 2008. In the 2009, 2010, and 2012 seasons, Maggitt played in every game, collecting 77 total tackles in his collegiate career. His junior season in 2011 was shortened by a knee injury, but he came back in 2012 and led the team in tackles for a loss, earning All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors.
Maggitt graduated from Iowa State in 2012 with a degree in liberal studies.
