Taveze Calhoun joined the UWG football staff as the Wolves' cornerbacks coach in January of 2024.
A former standout at Mississippi State, the Ludlow, Mississippi native comes to UWG after two seasons on staff at his alma mater. In 2022 and 2023, Calhoun was a graduate assistant with the Bulldogs’ program, assisting with the defensive backs.
After spending nearly four seasons in the NFL with the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, Miami Dolphins, and the Atlanta Falcons, Calhoun began his coaching career at Brandon High School in Brandon, Mississippi, coaching the defensive backs.
As a player, Calhoun started 36 games for Mississippi State, made 161 career tackles and picked off six passes in his Bulldog career. Calhoun earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from MSU in 2015 and then earned a master’s in education in 2022.
