A new face on UWG’s 2017 coaching staff is a very familiar face to head coach David Dean. Thomas Baltrus joins the Wolves this season in the role of running backs coach.

The connection between Baltrus and Dean goes back to their days at Valdosta State. In 2014 Baltrus served a student assistant under on Dean’s staff, working with the Blazers’ secondary. A year later he moved into the role of graduate assistant at VSU, working with the wide receivers. Following Dean’s departure to Georgia Southern, Baltrus remained at Valdosta State in 2016, against working with the receivers.

Baltrus, a Valdosta native, earned a bachelor’s in Business Management from Valdosta State in 2013. He earned his MBA from Valdosta State in 2016.
