Mark Schult begins his second season with the UWG Wolves in 2020-21. He joined the staff in summer 2019 as a Graduate Assistant Coach.
Schult brings both coaching and playing experience to the Wolves. He spent the two years prior to West Georgia as an Assistant Coach for Clark State Community College in Springfield, OH. He played a large role in turning around the Eagles' culture, as the program went from one win to 15 wins over his two seasons.
At Clark State, he touched all areas of the program, including practice planning, recruiting, academic oversight, team travel & logistics, film management, and skill development primarily for the guards. Two players were named to the All-OCCAC Team during his tenure.
Prior to Clark State, Schult served as a Student Assistant at Wittenberg University, also in Springfield, OH. As a student assistant, he was able to help the coaching staff with organization of team meals, film breakdown, and serving as an Assistant Coach for the JV team. He played two seasons for the Tigers prior to joining the coaching staff.
Schult was heavily involved on the AAU circuit from 2015-2018, coaching on 15U, 16U, and 17U staffs for the Cincinnati based program Shining Stars. Being a continuous learner, he has also worked basketball camps for a wide variety of NBA Players and college programs around the country, including Dallas Mavericks forward Willie Cauley-Stein, University of Dayton, and University of Louisville. He assisted with the startup of two successful youth skill development programs, called Heart Over Height Hoops (Covington, KY) and JH95 Skills (Columbus, OH).
A native of Edgewood, KY, Schult graduated from Wittenberg University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting in 2018. He is currently pursuing his Master's of Sports Management at UWG.
