Overview
Though he won’t be eligible at the season’s outset, Cooney has high hopes for Paul Turner. The 6-5 swingman comes to UWG a top juco program at Central Florida after he signed originally with Division I Wisconsin-Green Bay. As a sophomore at Central Florida he helped lead the Patriots to a 23-win season. He averaged more than 18 points and four rebounds per game. A solid three-point shooter, he hit 64 three-pointers last season and was an 83 percent foul shooter as well.
Commenting on Turner, Cooney says, “We love his motor and his competitive personality. Winning is very important to him. Cooney is hopeful of Turner gaining eligibility after the completion of fall exams, and adds, “We expect Paul to be an impact player for us."
