Overview
In this past year, Davis led his team to a 29-2 record and the Georgia High School Association AAAAA State Championship, averaging 17.2 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.4 blocks, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals. That performance earned him a second-straight spot as a GACA All-Star, but he was also named Region 3-AAAAA Player of the Year, Georgia Southwest Player of the Year, All-State and to top it all off, he was named the 2015 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Player of the Year for the AAAAA classification. Davis was a star in the 2015 state playoffs, as he scored 16 points in the second half of the Pirates' semifinal victory over Cedar Shoals to earn a spot in the GHSA 5-A state championship game against Allatoona. In that state title game, Davis put on a show, scoring 20 points and pulling down 14 rebounds en route to a 49-32 victory and the first state basketball championship in the history of Brunswick High School. As a junior Davis had a solid year awards-wise, as he was a GACA All-Star, Region Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Region in the 2013-14 season at Brunswick, but saved his best for last, as he was the 59th-ranked player in the state of Georgia heading into his senior season. In his career at Brunswick, Davis scored 1,532 total points and finished his four years with 574 blocks and 901 rebounds, both school records for the Pirates. He was also named the 2015 Glynn County Sports Hall of Fame Game MVP as well as being named to the Tift McDonald's Invitational Tournament Team and the Savannah Memorial Classic Tournament Team.
