After finishing her playing career as a graduate transfer in 2021, Kayla Hughes remained in Carrollton and wll serve as the graduate assistant for the UWG Softball program in 2022.
Hughes hit .282 as a senior in Carrollton and was third on the team with four home runs, playing primarily as UWG's designated hitter. Prior to playing her final season for the Wolves, Hughes was a three-time letter winner at Tennessee Tech as a pitcher and hitter. She concluded her time at Tennessee Tech graduating with a degree in Special Education.
A native of Chickamauga, GA, Hughes was a standout player and two-time all-state selection at The Baylor School in Chattanooga.
Here at West Georgia, Hughes is pursuing a Master's Degree in Sport Management with a concentration in Athletic Administration.
