Krystle Evans

UWG head women’s basketball coach Joanna Reitz announced today the addition of Krystle Evans to her staff as the Wolves’ assistant coach and recruiting coordinator ahead of the 2025-26 season

Evans joins Reitz’s staff after spending the 2024-25 season at Indiana State, and brings 15-plus years of coaching experience to her new role at UWG.

Prior to her season at ISU, Evans helped five student-athletes earn All-Big West honors as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at UC Santa Barbara.

Evans’ stint at UCSB from 2022-2024 was her second for the Gauchos as she also served their Director of Basketball Operations in 2015-16. Between those stints, Evans was the head coach at the Academy of Art University, a Division II institution in San Francisco, as well as stops at Cal-State Dominguez Hills and UC Irvine.

Prior to her first stint at UCSB, Evans got her first coaching experience at the collegiate level at Los Angeles Southwest Community College where she served as the Associate head coach from 2010-2015.

Evans has a political science degree from UCLA, a Master’s degree in kinesiology from Fresno Pacific, and a PhD in Sports Leadership from Concordia Chicago.

While at UCLA, injuries kept her off the floor, but after graduating in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in political science with a United States government concentration and an education minor, her hard work and leadership qualities earned her a California's 30 Under 30 Award, the Wasserman Research Scholar Award, Marguerite LaMotte's Rosa Parks Leadership Award, the LAUSD Trailblazer Award, along with numerous other recognitions.
