2023
Played in 22 games, starting in 17 of them... Hit .246 in 61 at bats with two home runs and 10 RBIs, with his home runs coming in back-to-back games against Union and Tuskegee.

2022
Played in 30 games, making 22 starts in 2022... one of five players to finish with a batting average above .300... primarily played corner outfield for UWG... went 3-4 with two runs scored against Tusculum on April 2...  

Overview
Cruz played for Aaron Everett at Southern Union where he will play shortstop and pitch for the Bison. He is the everyday shortstop but will figure into the SU bullpen from time to time. Edger is from Temple, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Fleetwood Area High School. He played in 22 games as a freshman in 2019 at Southern Union, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he did not play in 2020 and enters UWG as a sophomore on the field in 2021. He hit .316 with three doubles, a triple and 12 RBI in 22 games as a freshman ... was on the roster for UWG in 2021, but did not play. 

Bryan Niedbalski on Cruz: “Edgar is a middle infielder from Pennsylvania.  We really like the way he plays the game with very good athleticism and smooth actions on the infield. He will help improve our infield defense right away when he steps on campus. He also has the ability to pitch which is a bonus for us. He is going to be a line-drive hitter with natural bat speed with the ability to handle the bat, which we value extremely high here.”
