Made her collegiate debut on September 6 against King College, playing in every set of the opening weekend at the UWG Invitational ... had 23 digs on the weekend, including seven against King and Malone on September 6 and against Georgia College on September 7.

Overview
Matthews was a strong and versatible player for coach April Marsh at Bob Jones High School in Madison, Ala. Throughout her high school career, Matthews saw time as a middle and outside hitter as well as a defensive specialist.

She combined for 601 kills in her final two years of high school as well as 48 aces, 129 blocks and 292 digs. She was named All-State and All-Area in each season, reaching the Elite Eight in both years. As a senior, Bob Jones was the championship runner-up and as a junior, she played on the North/South All-Star team. Also played club ball for RCVC, Rocket City Volleyball Club, under the direction of Rose Powell. Daughter of Marshall and Lisa Grice ... Born August 22, 1994 ...
