Ben Lilley became the department’s first-ever full-time employee in the content creation and social media space in August of 2026.
No stranger to the department, Lilley served as a graduate assistant for UWG Athletics beginning in August 2024 and managed the departments social media efforts and creative content in that capacity until becoming the Creative Content Coordinator.
Lilley’s contributions as a graduate assistant saw the Wolves’ social media presence grow rapidly. In 2025-26, UWG’s Instagram accounts saw a nearly 30 percent increase in followers and his content saw a collective 31.5 million views.
Before coming to the University of West Georgia, Lilley completed a bachelor's degree in digital marketing, with a minor in studio art, from the University of North Georgia, in Dahlonega, Ga. During his time at UNG, Ben was a photography student assistant for the UNG Athletic department. Ben also was a resident assistant. He graduated from North Georgia in 2024.
Lilley completed his Master’s degree in Digital and Social Media Communication from UWG in December of 2025.
He interned in the summer of 2023 for the Cape Cod Baseball League in Cape Cod, Ma. He covered content for all 10 teams over 42 games throughout the summer and dabbled with writing player profiles as well.
Ben grew up in Warner Robins, Ga., after moving there in 3rd grade. Being a military child, he had the experience of living multiple different places, including Virginia, Korea, Portugal, Germany, and Kansas. He graduated from Houston County High School in 2021, where he did yearbook photography, played trumpet in the marching band, ran cross country and track, and was on the swim team.
