Brandon Taylor

Head football coach Joel Taylor announced the addition of Brandon Taylor to his 2024 staff as the Wolves’ Special Teams Coordinator and Outside Linebackers coach.

In his first season in Carrollton, UWG's special teams unit ranked in the top-50 in punt returns and featured Karmello English who ranked 26th in the country in punt returns. In the kicking game, Reilly Mason continued to flourish under Taylor's schemes, averaging 42.6 yards per punt and as a unit, the Wolves' punt teams ranked second in the UAC.

Taylor brings with him Southeastern Conference experience as his last two stops were in the powerhouse conference. Most recently, Taylor was a graduate assistant under Billy Napier at Florida for two seasons which was predated by a two-year stint as the special teams graduate assistant at LSU from 2020-2021.

Taylor also has spent times on the staffs at Jacksonville State (2019), Florida International (2018), and Louisiana Tech (2017). His first coaching stop was at Southern University in 2016 as an offensive assistant.

A native of Slidell, Louisiana, Taylor was a long snapper and enjoyed a five-year career at FIU, appearing in 35 career games. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from FIU before receiving a master’s degree from LSU in 2022.
