Dominic Murgo III

Dominic Murgo III returns to the University of West Georgia as Pitching Coach after a successful playing and coaching career at the collegiate and professional development levels. A native of Bradenton, Fla., and graduate of IMG Academy, Murgo pitched for the Wolves from 2021–2023 before transferring to Barry University for his final year of eligibility in 2024.

At Barry, Murgo emerged as one of the team’s top pitchers, leading the staff with a 3.18 ERA, 1.1 WHIP and 6–1 record over 24 relief appearances. He tossed 62.1 innings, striking out 38 while holding opponents to a .247 average. Following his playing career, he joined the Barry coaching staff as Director of Player Development and Analytics, working closely with the pitching staff while completing Barry’s dual master’s program. He earned both a Master of Sport Management and an MBA in 2025.

After graduating, Murgo further advanced his career at Driveline Baseball as a Pitching Trainer in Tampa, Florida, one of the nation’s leaders in player development. There, he specialized in biomechanics, pitch design, and advanced data analytics. He also holds certification in sabermetrics and advanced analytics.
