Ivey Slaughter came to Carrollton as the Wolves’ assistant women's basketball coach in the summer of 2026.
Slaughter, a former standout at Florida State and professional player in Europe, makes the third stop in her coaching career at UWG. Most recently, Slaughter spent two seasons at Presbyterian which came after two seasons on staff at UNC Asheville.
Over four seasons at Presbyterian and UNC Asheville combined, Slaughter was instrumental in the development of four All-Conference selections.
Slaughter returns to her home state as she is a native of Macon, where she prepped at Tatnall Square Academy before an impressive career at Florida State.
At FSU, Slaughter started 132 of 137 career games played, numbers that rank second and third respectively all time at FSU. She ranked fourth in made free throws (372), fourth in steals (222), and sixth in both free throw attempts (513) and rebounds (912).
Slaughter recorded an impressive 21 double-doubles throughout her college career. She was a two-time member of the All-ACC Academic Team and received the Alicia Gladden Defensive Player of the Year award during her sophomore year.
Following graduation in 2017, Slaughter was invited to training camps with the WNBA’s New York Liberty and Las Vegas Aces before ultimately playing professionally in Hungary, Latvia, and Sweden.
