Jared Boggus became UWG's Sports Information Director in the fall of 2022 after seven years as an assistant. The 2024-25 season is his 10th season as a full-time staff member at UWG and his 12th overall season in UWG's Office of Athletic Communications. He is the primary contact for Wolves Football, Soccer, Women's Basketball, Softball, and Men's and Women's Golf. Boggus is also an integral part of the Wolves' social media presence across multiple platforms.
In 2020, Boggus created and produced the first episode of West Georgia's own weekly podcast, What the Howl?, and has since produced over 100 episodes. As a co-host of the show, Boggus updates fans of the biggest news in UWG athletics and regularly interviews coaches and players. What the Howl? currently has over 9,000 downloads in its lifetime.
Prior to being on staff full-time at UWG, Boggus served the Athletic Communications office as a graduate assistant. In the summer of 2013, Boggus was a Media Relations and Tournament Operations Intern for the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour based out of Jacksonville, Fla. There, he was responsible for maintaining the company website, increasing media exposure, and assisted in operating tournaments as a rules official.
Boggus earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management from UWG in July 2013 and completed his Master's in Business Administration in the summer of 2015.
He is a member of the College Sports Communicators, formerly CoSIDA. His 2021-22 women's basketball game notes were ranked fourth in the nation in CoSIDA's Annual Publications Contest. In the 2024 CSC Awards, he garnered two top-10 awards in the "Intro Video" category, with his women's basketball intro finishing fourth and the volleyball intro video finishing ninth in the country.
Outside of West Georgia, Boggus enjoys hiking, playing disc golf, traveling, and is an avid Atlanta Braves fan. A native of Bowdon, Ga., he is married to Hailey and the couple welcomed their daughter, Ella, in December of 2022.
