Former Maryland golfer Panassaya Somchit began her coaching career as UWG's graduate assistant ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Somchit was a four-year player for the Terps, finishing her career with a top-30 individual finish at the Big Ten Championship. Her career low was a 68 in March of 2022.
Prior to Maryland, Somchit was an accomplished junior golfer, finishing fourth in the U.S. Kids World Championships in Malaysia in 2015, and took over 20 wins as a jnuior in local and national tournaments in her native Thailand.
Somchit earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Maryland and was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
