Assistant Coach

Hailing from Irvington, New Jersey, Rayna Smith was retained by UWG women’s volleyball as an assistant coach after serving as a graduate assistant for the 2025-26 season.

Prior to joining the UWG staff, Smith most recently served as a graduate assistant for the University of Louisiana Monroe from 2024-25.

Before ULM, she worked as a student assistant coach at Kean University for three seasons, helping the Cougars secure Eastern College Athletic Conference titles in 2021 and 2022.

During this time, Smith also volunteered as an assistant volleyball coach at Frank H. Morrell High School in Newark, N.J. and was a volleyball camp instructor at the University of Texas at Austin in July of 2023. She has also been involved in the American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA) Mentorship Program.

Smith earned a bachelor’s in exercise science with an associate degree in physical education from Kean University. She would later earn a master’s in sports management from UWG in the spring of 2026.
