Ainsley Cowart - UWG Golf
UWG women's golf opened the spring season last weekend with a fourth-place finish at the Lady Cougar Invitational in Columbus, GA. Ainsley Cowart was the star of the show for the Wolves at this tournament, finishing second with a first-round 77 followed by a 75 in the second round. She has played in four tournaments in this athletic year, finishing in the top-10 in each outing and she has finished second in her last two tournaments.
Kya Draper - Softball
West Georgia swept Georgia College softball last week and Kya Draper continued her mastery of opposing lineups in game one. She went five innings and had a no-hitter through four and struck out a career-high 11 batters. She now has an ERA of 0.85 and is 5-0 on the year. The Wolves are undefeated in each series Game 1 with Draper in the circle this season.
Tierra White - Volleyball
The Wolves bounced back in a big way on Saturday against Shorter after a loss on Friday to Lee. The Wolves lost the first set to the Hawks in Rome, Ga., but that was all the bad news on that specific day as West Georgia rebounded with a 3-1 victory.Tierra White had her best hitting weekend of the season, connecting on 18 total kills with just three errors, compiling a hitting percentage of .357 for the weekend. She was also big at the net for UWG with 10 total blocks on the weekend including four solo blocks.
Chanceley Book - Soccer
A GSC Spring Championship Series shutout was the order of the day on Friday for the West Georgia Wolves, as keeper Chanceley Book powered the Wolves to a 2-0 shutout victory over Auburn-Montgomery. Book had four saves in the victory, bringing her total to 15 saves for the year.
