Wolves Drop Match with Rollins

DAYTONA BEACH, Fl. - The University of West Georgia soccer team suffered their first loss of the season to the Rollins Tars on Friday afternoon.

In the first half, Rollins (3-0-1) controlled most of the offensive attack, finishing the half with seven shots with five being on target. Haley Brinkman made back-to-back key saves in the 24th and 25th minutes to preserve the shoutout for the West Georgia defense. The Wolves (1-1) only managed to get three shots off, with just one of those being on target. Rollins also dominated the corner kicks category 3-1.

Right out of the gates in the second half, Rollins broke through to score the game's first goal, with Gabby Boyd finding the back of the net in the 49th minute. That goal proved to be enough in the end as Rollins rode the lone goal to the finish, taking down the Wolves by a score of 1-0.

Rollins finished the contest with 13 shots, seven of which being on goal, while only allowing seven shots total from the Wolves.

West Georgia is back in action on Sunday when they take on the Embry-Riddle Eagles at 11a.m. in Daytona Beach, Fl.
