CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The University of West Georgia Soccer team fell 1-0 to the Lee Flames on Sunday afternoon.
Even while missing starting defender Florence Pegrum, who was held out of today's game due to an ankle injury, UWG's (5-5-3, 5-4-1 GSC) defense kept them in the match against Lee (10-0-3, 8-0-1 GSC), holding the Flames to one goal on seven shots, but the goal from Lee's Amelya Jacobs proved to be the difference maker.
Offensively, West Georgia had a total of 6 shots with two being on goal from Chiara Lape and Catherine Reeves.
Haley Brinkman put on a defensive show in the match. Brinkman was faced with seven shots from Lee and made six saves. Several build-up opportunities were also shut down in elite fashion by the senior Goalkeeper.
The Wolves are back at home on Friday at 5:00 p.m. for a match against West Florida. Follow the action live via social media @UWGSoccer on all platforms.
