Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. – Too much firepower from the number three team in the country downed the West Georgia Wolves women's basketball team on Saturday as UWG fell to Union, 117-53.
West Georgia (11-8, 7-8 GSC) shot 35.1 percent from the field and turned it over 29 times to Union (20-1, 14-1 GSC) and the Bulldogs' full court pressure defense.
Three Wolves,
Jada Powell,
Katelyn Dunning, and
Mykah Anderson led the UWG scoring output with nine each.
West Georgia scored the first three points of the game and then after a 5-5 tie, the Bulldogs went on a 21-3 run to lead 26-8 before UWG closed the gap to 28-16 by the end of the opening quarter.
In the second, the Bulldogs extended their lead to as much as 25 late in the quarter before
Sydne Tolbert hit the Wolves' first three of the game at the buzzer, making the halftime deficit, 54-32.
Union outscored West Georgia 63-21 in the final half and had six players score in double-figures.
West Georgia will return home on Wednesday to take on West Florida at 5:30 p.m. at The Coliseum.
