CARROLLTON, Ga. - The University of West Georgia Volleyball team fell in straight sets in Sunday's matchup at The Coliseum against the North Florida Ospreys.
UWG (9-9, 2-4) struggles against the North Florida (6-14, 3-3) offense who hit .457 as a team while putting down 50 total kills.
In the beginning set, the Ospreys jumped out to a fast start with a 10-4 run out of the gate. The Wolves were able to battle back with the help of
Sanai Young and
Alex Strating contributing two kills to bring the deficit to within four, 14-10. But the high powered Ospreys offense would continue to hit their stride and win the set, 25-23.
In the second set, West Georgia started to find their groove and were keeping the set close with four lead changes early on. In the back half of the set, North Florida would start to pull away and quiet the Wolves offensive rally, to win the set 25-15.
In the third set, North Florida would continue their momentum and disrupt UWG's effort to prevent the sweep. The Ospreys would jump out to an early 10-1 lead and win the set 25-11, and the match 3-0.
The Wolves will be back in action at The Coliseum next Friday, October 18 against Bellarmine with first serve slated at 6:00 p.m.
