Box Score 2 MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The UWG softball team led early in both games of Saturday's doubleheader, but the Wolves fell in both contests to the 17th-ranked Auburn Montgomery Warhawks as AUM completed the sweep of the Wolves.
GAME ONE: Auburn Montgomery 10, West Georgia 4
UWG led 3-0 after one and 4-2 after three, but in the end, Auburn Montgomery came away with a 10-4 win in the first game of the doubleheader to clinch the series.
Zekylah Boyd scored the game's opening run on an RBI-single from Makayla Register and then R.J. Janke picked up an RBI single to score Blaire Bizette and Jacelyn Lahr scored on a third RBI-single from Madison Vandergriff.
AUM led off the first with a walk, then scored on a double, a single, and a sacrifice fly to make it a 3-2 UWG lead, and then a Makayla Register home run made it 4-2, UWG at the midway point of the third. The Warhawks then flipped the script using two hits, two walks, and two hit batsmen to score four runs and take a 6-4 lead.
It was then single runs in the fourth and fifth and a two-spot in the sixth before closing out the game.
UWG had nine hits in the game, led by two each from Zekylah Boyd and Makayla Register with Register's two RBIs leading the way.
GAME TWO: Auburn Montgomery 9, West Georgia 1
A Megan Waites double and Makayla Register single scored the first run in the final, but the lead was short lived as scored five in the first, before adding two in the second, two in the third and cruising to a run-rule victory in the finale.
The Wolves were held to three hits in the finale with two of those coming in the first inning. Rylee Green had an infield single in the fourth inning to account for the third UWG hit.

UWG returns home on Tuesday to host Fort Valley State in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. in Carrollton.
