Josh Smith Named ASUN Newcomer of the Week

CARROLLTON, Ga. - In his first week competing with the Pack, UWG men's basketball guard Josh Smith was honored with ASUN Newcomer of the Week following his outstanding performance in the Wolves' win over Huntingdon College (Nov. 17).

In the home opener, the North Carolina Central transfer led the Wolves with a career-high 26 points, totaling five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block, all while not committing a turnover.

Through two games, the junior averages 15 points, four assists and three rebounds per game.

The last time a UWG men's basketball earned this honor was when Shelton Williams-Dryden took it home after averaging 19.3 points per game in a three-game stretch (Nov. 26-29, 2024).

The Wolves take on UCLA today (Nov. 10) at 10 p.m., marking the second straight Monday UWG faced a team from the Big Ten. Streaming for tonight's game can be found here.
