West Georgia Returns Home to Host The Citadel

11/12/2025 10:13:00 AM

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Non-Conference play continues for UWG men's basketball with the Wolves hosting The Citadel this Friday at 7 p.m. in the second-ever ASUN/SoCon Challenge. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+. A link to live video, stats and where you can purchase your tickets is tagged above.

Returning from a 4,000-mile-plus road trip to #15 UCLA, West Georgia (1-2) returns to The Coliseum looking to secure its first ASUN/SoCon Challenge win against the Bulldogs (1-2), a team riding a two-game losing skid.

Announced in 2024, the conferences created a two-year alliance to play games against each other in back-to-back seasons. The ASUN lost last season's challenge 11 games to nine. UWG fell in their matchup to Mercer, 86-72 (Dec. 4, 2024). The Citadel went 1-1 last season by securing a 74-52 win over Stetson (Nov. 11, 2024), before losing to Central Arkansas, 73-71 (Dec. 16, 2024).

In the Pack's latest game (Nov. 10), multiple Wolves recorded career-highs in scoring and the team knocked down 13 three-pointers, the most since joining Division I.

Forward Shelton Williams-Dryden led the way with 16 points and a team-high six rebounds, almost identical to his season average of 16.3 points (eighth in the ASUN) and 6.7 rebounds (seventh in the ASUN) per game. Notably, Williams-Dryden knocked down a career-high three three-pointers against UCLA, half of the total he had recorded in his previous 33 games at UWG.

The only other Wolf to score double-digits in all three games this season is guard Chas Lewless, who is averaging 12 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists (eighth in the ASUN). Against the Bruins, Lewless drained a personal-best 13 points, breaking his previous records of 11 and 12 that he set in his first two games with the Pack.

Another Wolf coming off a career performance is guard Brady Hardewig, who knocked down a personal best 14 points and a team-high four three-pointers. For the first time in his career, Hardewig has recorded back-to-back double-digit scoring performances. Currently, he is averaging 9.7 points while shooting at a stellar 56 percent (10-18) from the field and 43 percent (6-14) from three.

For The Citadel, forward Christian Moore averages a Bulldogs-high 15.3 points per game (sixth in the SoCON), shooting 45 percent from the field and 48 percent from three. In their recent matchup against Charleston Southern (Nov. 10), Moore recorded a career-high 21 points while shooting 46 percent (6-13) from the field and 50 percent (4-8) from three.

Following behind Moore is forward Sola Adebisi, who is averaging 10.7 points, a team-high 7.7 rebounds (seventh in the SoCON), two steals (eighth in the SoCON) and two assists per game. Last year, Adebisi finished eighth in the SoCON and led The Citadel, averaging six rebounds per game.

Looking at team stats, UWG has averaged 78.3 points while shooting 47 percent from the field and 40 percent from three. On defense, the team has given up an average of 84 points. Speaking of defense, UWG leads the ASUN in blocks per game with 20, four more than the next team. Forward Kenneth Chime posts an ASUN-best 10 blocks and forward JaVar Daniel places fourth with five blocks. The Citadel averages 79.3 points while shooting 43 percent from the field and 32 percent from three. Opponents have scored an average of 77.7 points against the Bulldogs.

Friday's game is set for a 7 p.m. tipoff. Tickets can be purchased using the link at the top of the page.
