UWG Volleyball Drops Final Road Game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UWG fell to North Florida 3-0 tonight in Jacksonville, completing the 2-0 season sweep for the Ospreys.

UNF (12-15, 6-8 ASUN) pushed its winning streak to four wins after beating UWG (2-25, 0-14 ASUN) tonight 25-15, 25-19, and 25-23 in the final road game of the season for the Pack.

Grace-Blythe Cornett led the Wolves tonight with 9.5 points from nine kills.

MATCH DETAILS
The road finale opened with the teams trading leads early on. With Molly Brunell and Cornett each scoring two points, UWG stayed on the hosts' heels, but UNF jumped out to a 18-12 lead. From here on out, the UWG offense stalled, resulting in North Florida taking set one 25-15.

Brunell continued to stay on fire in the second set, crushing a block and earning a kill to push the pace for the Wolves to jump out in front 6-3. Following three straight kills, North Florida was able to lock the match back up and then overtake.  West Georgia continued to stay within striking range with Rylee Henderson and Alex Strating adding to the point total, but North Florida's strong finish led to the hosts taking the set two win, 25-19.

In the third set, West Georgia jumped out to an early lead with the Pack recording a match-high .320 hitting percentage. Up 11-7, UWG stayed out in front using solid communication and strong rotations. Storming back, the Ospreys were able to catch up by capitalizing off of UWG attack errors. Once the hosts tied it up at 17-17 from back-to-back points, the Ospreys began to take control, but UWG continued to fight. Unfortunately, UNF would hold on to win 25-23.
