NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The UWG women's basketball team dropped a road Atlantic Sun Conference matchup on Wednesday, falling 92-75 to the Lipscomb Bisons in Nashville.
West Georgia (8-14, 2-9 ASUN) shot 40 percent from the field and fell victim to a red-hot Lipscomb (14-8, 7-4 ASUN) team that shot 50 percent from the field. UWG matched a season-high with 12 three-pointers, including four from Mykah Anderson who led UWG with 17 points.
While Lipscomb led the entire opening half, West Georgia hung in and kept it close with the Bisons' lead staying in single digits until late in the half.
Lipscomb led 22-15 after one and then it was a two-point Bisons lead at the 4:29 mark of the second quarter, but Lipscomb would end the half on a 14-4 run to go up by 12 at the break, 44-32.
West Georgia's offense was led by K'Nari Holliday in the first half with eight while Sydne Tolbert added seven to account for 15 of the Wolves' 32 points.
The Wolves got it as close as eight points in the third quarter before Lipscomb pulled away again, using an 11-0 run to go up by 19 and would eventually lead by 23.
UWG won the fourth quarter, scoring 23 points in the final quarter to Lipscomb's 20.
K'Nari Holliday had 15 points in the loss while Zuriyah Davis also had double-figures with 13 points. Holliday also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
The Wolves remain on the road throughout the weekend, traveling to Queens for a Saturday afternoon contest. Tip-time is set for 4 p.m. from Charlotte, North Carolina.
