CARROLLTON, Ga. - Another historic moment in the annals of UWG football happened on Monday as the Wolves broke into the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll as the 25th-ranked team in the country, marking the first ever ranking in the Division I era.
The Wolves are off to a 2-0 start to the 2025 season and head coach Joel Taylor, and his Wolves went on the road last weekend and knocked off 22nd-ranked Nicholls by a 34-10 score. It was the first victory over a ranked opponent in the Division I era as UWG is now 1-2 against ranked FCS teams as a Division I program.
West Georgia's week three opponent, ETSU, received votes in the poll and are 1-1 on the season with a win over Murray State and a loss to Tennessee.
In the AFCA Coaches Poll, UWG received votes as well as ETSU, setting up a big matchup inside University Stadium on Saturday at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by clicking the ad below.
